CCPA Joins Call to Strengthen Medicare Osteoporosis Care

CCPA recently signed on to an important advocacy letter led by the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundationto that was submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on September 12, 2025. The letter urges stronger coverage and reimbursement policies for osteoporosis care under the 2026 Physician Fee Schedule, noting that Medicare’s current coding structure does not sufficiently support critical post-fracture care and coordination services. This care is proven to reduce repeat fractures, improve patient outcomes, and lower long-term costs

By signing on, CCPA stands with 20 other leading patient advocacy groups and professional societies to call for policies that better serve people with osteoporosis and those at risk.

To better understand the data, cost calculations, clinical evidence, and policy design behind these recommendations, we strongly encourage you to read the full letter here.
