Factsheet: Patient Access to Medication Threatened by Federal “Copay Accumulator” Rules

Millions of patients rely on copay assistance programs to afford prescription medications, but recent federal policies around copay accumulator programs threaten to increase patients’ out-of-pocket costs. In an effort to increase awareness around why copay accumulator programs are harmful to patients, the Chronic Care Policy Alliance (CCPA) has developed a factsheet to inform patients, advocates, and legislators what these policies do and why we must advocate for better solutions. In addition, we cover what copay accumulator programs are and why copay assistance programs can be lifesaving for millions of patients.

We encourage patient advocates to download the factsheet and share widely to spread the word that patients’ access to innovative medications must be protected!
